Los Angeles, der gebürtige Texaner releast einige Tage nach seinem Album ASTROWORLD, das in der Hip Hop Welt einschlug wie eine Bombe, den offiziellen Clip zu "STOP TRYING TO BE GOD". Eines muss man dem frisch gewordenen Daddy lassen, das Video ist ein cinematisches Meisterwerk und mit Kylie Jenners Gastauftritt als Jungfrau Maria ein echter Hingucker. Der 26-jährige Rapper, der mit bürgerlichem Namen Jacques Webster heist, spielt in der neuen Single auf Gott und die Bibel an, im Video tritt Gott höchstpersönlich in Form eines bärtigen schwarzen Mannes auf, der von tanzenden Engeln begleitet wird. Auch das Ende des Videos endet mit einer weiteren biblischen Anspielung: der Geburt Jesu im Stall.
