Lovex, the rock band from Tampere, will release their third studio album
on May 11th 2011 . The single from the Watch Out! The album is called
Slave For the Glory and it has been released world wide on February
2011.
The album, Watch Out! has been written by the band members themselves
and produced by Christian, the band's keyboard player. In January 2011Lovex renewed their recording contract with EMI, who was also in charge
for the release of the band's earlier albums.
"The band wanted a considerable change and we thought that the easiest
way to accomplish it would be to write
and produce the album by
ourselves. Therefore, we didn't look for producers outside of the band
during the recording process.
We composed enough songs for three albums
while inhaling fresh influences. Moreover, we were for once able to
write an
album without any tours, which would have interrupted the
recording process.
We are really excited about this album and the new contract with EMI. We
feel that we have grown up and rediscovered ourselves. We are no longer
pretending to be anything else. We do things in a way that is natural
for this band and I'm sure that everyone who listens to this album will
hear that," says Theon.
Lovex is known for big radio hits and as many as five Lovex singles
(Guardian Angel, Bleeding, Remorse, Die a Little More,
and Anyone
Anymore) reached the TOP 3 of the Official Finnish single chart. Their
debut single Guardian Angel went directly to No. 1 and the "Muuvi"
awarded video for that song also got nominated for the Emma-Award
(Finnish equivalent for the Grammy-award) by IFPI Finland in 2007.
Lovex's singles have sold more than 12 000 copies in Finland alone.
The debut album Divine Insanity has sold more than 20 000 copies in
Finland granting the band their first gold record.
The album was
released in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Japan in 2007. The album
reached #20 on the German album chart and the single Guardian Angel #22
on the respective single chart. In 2008 Lovex released their second
album Pretend or Surrender and the first single, Take a Shot, became the
most played song in Finland in April 2008. The band has toured in Europe
several times and they have also performed in Japan, where they have
visited twice.
