International singer, songwriter and peace advocate, twenty-two year Liel Kolet started her international career at the age of 12 when she won a European talent contest in Italy.
Liel was born on a Kibbutz in the North of Israel, near the Lebanese border. She experienced the war as a child and there were many times she was in the shelter with her family.
Liel decided to use her voice and music to promote peace and send the message that her generation should stop the circle of hatred and start a new beginning.
Liel's historical duet with President Bill Clinton gave her mission for peace a
world-wide exposure.
At age 14, during her performance at an international event, surrounded by forty Arab and forty Jewish children, Liel invited President Bill Clinton to join her on stage. CNN/International broadcasted President Clinton and Liel singing together one of history’s most important songs about peace - John Lennon’s “Imagine.”
Their impromptu duet instigated a firestorm of publicity and she became a “highly sought after personality” for peace concerts, and charities throughout the world. President Clinton later invited Liel to perform in Los Angeles, as well as, to sing the Canadian Anthem at a tribute event to Nelson Mandela. One of her biggest fans is Former U.S.S.R. President Mikail Gurbatchov and the German President - Horst Kohler.
Since then she performed in many peace concerts around the world, she had received the prestigious German Radio Award for her work for peace. International legends, such as: Andrea Bocelli, Herbie Hancock, Patty Labelle and the Scorpions, recorded peace songs with Liel, in support and admiration for her dedication to promote peace and love.
Liel have just recorded her first USA single with hit songwriter & producer Walter Afanasieff. Her single will be Released in America on March 2012.
