Blaxy Girls is a Romanian teenagers pop rock girl-band. The members of the group are Rucsandr Iliescu(voice and quitar), Amala Tirca(quitar), Cristina Marinescu(quitar bass), Ana Nanu(keyboard) and Gela Marinescu(drumbs).
On 10th of October 2007 was founded the group Blaxy Girls, the girls from the Black Sea, a band which has 5 teenagers, with ages between 15 and 19 years old. In that autumn day, Blaxy Girls signed the contract with their international producer, Costi Ionita. Later on, in december that year, Blaxy Girls signed the contract with the romanian record label Roton, one of the biggest records labels in Romania.
The group's first single, "If You Feel My Love" became quickly very popular in Romania. For the second great hit is called "Dear Mama", the clip was internationally released at the beginning of March, as a present for the women and mothers all around the world. The first album of the group was released in December 2008. They appeared in the semifinals of the 2008 Golden Stag Festival and were among the finalists for the 2009 Romanian Eurovision Song Contest, with the song Dear Mama finishing in a tie for second place.
They planned to compete in the national selection of Romania for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "Save The World", but later withdrew.
On the 2008 Golden Stag Festival, Blaxy Girls released a mixed edition of "If You Feel My Love". It was a special combined pop, R&B and Peking Opera style, English and Chinese language. This song is also highly recommended by Chinese music fans.
In 2009, the girls managed to gather important prizes like:
- The trophee for "Best Rock" at Romanian Top Hits
- The trophee "The best debut" at Romania Actualitati
- The trophee "Best Rock" at Music Awards
- The prize "Premiile Confidential" – for the success of the song "Dear Mama"
- Second place at Eurovision Romania with the song "Dear Mama"
- First place in top NIELSEN for 4 months 4 luni with the song "If you feel my love", and then followed another 6 weeks by the song "Dear mama". The most important realization that year was the fact that they signed a contract with one of the biggest record labels in England "SONY BMG".
In late 2010 was announced that Blaxy Girls have passed the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 Romanian pre-selection and they were to compete in the National Final, held on New Year's eve, with their new entry, "It's So Fine".
In 2011, the Blaxy Girls released the song "Mr&Mrs President", a song inspired by the reality of these days. The girls are also preparing their release at international level. |
